We supply and install security lights with or without motion sensor to help make your property more secure. Intruders do not want to be seen for risk of identification or challenge and a security floodlight will brighten up the dark and make it harder for would be thieves to break in undisturbed.

If you have existing security lights that are old and require replacing then we can do this for you. Halogen security lights have now seen better days and in many cases are rusty, unsightly and have failed long ago. Let us take it down before it falls down and install a new one for you.

If your security light looks like any of the below then it might be a good idea to have it replaced. These photographs show floodlights and motion sensors that have failed, been poorly installed or have seen better days and no longer work.

Advantages of modern security lights

Modern LED security lights have many benefits for your home.

  • Dramatically reduced chance of break ins.
  • When used in conjunction with a camera system there is a much better chance for identification of would be intruders.
  • Can give you a greater sense of security and safety in your home.
  • Makes moving around outside in the dark easier if you have to take out the bins, go to the shed and so on.
  • Makes outdoor dining and entertaining easier.
  • Uses much less electric than previous outdoor security lighting.
  • Certain lights can be used as motion only or both permanent lighting and motion lighting.
  • Less likely to trip and fall outside.

Whilst outdoor security lighting will improve the security of your home, it will not provide as effective a deterrent as a high quality camera system and home alarm system but as a budget option security lighting certainly has real benefits and is a good start to improving home security.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you install other security measures?

Yes we can make your home as secure as you like. There are many different measures we can put in place depending upon your budget. Our top end security systems include:

  • High Quality cameras
  • Professional Alarm System
  • Floodlights that illuminate the entire boundary of your property when the alarm is activated
  • Phone notification
  • Internal lighting controllable from wherever you are in the world to appear as if you are home
We have been burgled / our neighbours / someone in the street, can you fit us in quickly?

Yes, if you are worried about your safety and have concerns about burglars in the area then we are happy to fit you in as quickly as possible. We can add intercom to your gates, locking systems and we have connections with other trades that means we can help with boundary security such as railings, gates and automation. Not forgetting…. Security lights of course. 😊

Can a security light go anywhere?

Almost anywhere. There are places that should be avoided but we will look at each job site differently and assess where the security light is likely to work most effectively. There may be a requirement for more than one security light in order to fully secure a specific area for example.

There is no power to the area where I want the light can you do this for me?

Yes, sometimes customers want new security lights in new locations rather than old ones replacing and we have to run power to the location in order for the security light to work.

What do the security lights look like?

We have some photographs of some security lights that we have installed. We can normally hide cables on most of our jobs and ensure that the final installation looks lovely and neat. Sometimes we cannot hide the cabling but we will discuss all the options with you before commencing work. The lights are lovely, modern and do not present as an eyesore.

We take care of the small details as well. When we install outdoor security lights we ensure that we use STAINLESS STEEL screws and washers. These cost a little more and are a little more difficult to find but they will give a lasting finish and will not rust like normal screws and washers after short time.

We use waterproof junctions and hide them behind the light so the overall finish looks more pleasing on the eye. Security should not have to be ugly and your home is your palace and needs to look the part as well as being secure.

It is these little finishes that matter to us and make the work look good for longer, we also make sure our work complies with all wiring regulations in force at the time ensuring a safe electrical installation is carried out.

Pricing

Every installation will be slightly different but as an example, replacement of an existing floodlight with a powerful 50 watt motion sensor security light would be £180*.

A less powerful light with no motion sensor to illuminate a front door area for example would be £150*.

If there was no existing power cable at the location then this would need to be done. Costs can vary and its best to ask us for a quote. Typical costs for an easy run would be from an additional £80** including the legally required testing and electrical certification for the work but every installation is different and a quote would normally need to be given.

*Costs at the time of writing and is due to fluctuation, inflation and site conditions. **Costs at the time of writing and is dependant on many factors including the suitability of the existing electrical circuit in the installation to be modified or extended. Extra works may be necessary in order to ensure electrical safety especially in older installations.
