1) What is a Call-out Electrician?
A call-out electrician is an electrician that will come out to help you at short notice. This could be any time of the day or night depending upon their operating hours and availability. They may not be able to help with your emergency on every occasion but they will certainly be prepared to work funny hours and bank holidays. This type of electrician will normally have other works booked in but leave some diary space available for emergencies as well. If you need emergency assistance then we welcome out of hours emergency callout jobs.
Back to top2) How quickly can my problems be fixed?
When you call a specialist emergency electrician, they are normally quick at finding faults within electrical installations. They will specialise in fault finding and repairs and should be able to get your electrical issues fixed quickly. If you have to call us out of hours or at short notice we are normally able to fix most issues within the first hour. We carry lots of spare parts and store more in our lockup and as such we have the capability to find and fix quickly. If there are more serious problems or obscure parts that are obsolete then this may take a little while longer.
Back to top3) What does it cost to call an out of hours electrician?
This cost will vary depending upon each company and their particular operation and overheads. We are soon to have a cost page relating to electrical emergencies so stay tuned, in the mean time we have lost more information on emergency electricians here: https://www.electricalfaultsfixed.co.uk/emergency-electrician
We pride ourselves on offering a competitive, professional and expert service. Please check our callout rates before calling us out of hours, whilst we are always happy to attend to your emergencies we prefer not to be woken up to discuss prices, quotes or other subjects that could be discussed during normal hours. π
Back to top4) What is a Call-out?
A callout is where a customer calls a tradesperson, company or other home repair professional and asks for help there and then. The nature of a callout is usually urgent and as such a tradesperson or company may have to drop other work, quotes, admin or leave colleagues on another job to come and help you solve your emergency. This is not a service that a lot of companies offer but we know that it is important to a lot of customers to be able to have a number to call, that they can depend on and we are here for you.
Back to top5) What types of problems can a Call-out Electrician solve?
There are a number of problems that we see and fix regularly as a CALL-OUT ELECTRICIAN
- Flickering Lights
- Burning Smell
- Trip Switch problems
- Fuse board problems
- Broken socket and switches
- No power
These and many, many more are electrical issues that we solve on a daily basis. If you find yourself having any issues like these or others then we are able to assist you. Electrical wiring systems are installed and forgotten about and they break down over time. It is only when one of these issues occurs that you are alerted to the problems that have been growing behind the scenes.
Back to top6) How long does an electrician take to come out?
If you have an emergency then we will be there quick. For emergencies we offer same day response and depending on the nature this can be in as little as 2 hours. We operate 24 /7 for emergencies to help our customers and we aim to sort your issues out as quickly as possible. We cover a wide area in the North West so our arrival time at your property will depend upon our current work and our current location. We will always discuss this with you on the phone prior to taking your booking though. π
Back to top7) What areas do you cover?
We cover from Liverpool to Leigh along the M62 and East Lancs. For a full list of areas that we cover please check our link here.
If you donβt see your area covered but live in an L, WA, WN or M postcode then just give us a call and we will be happy to help.
Back to top8) Can old electrics be repaired?
Sometimes they can be, yes. There are times when electrical installations are too old, too unsafe or not practical to repair. These vital systems in our home are generally ignored so long as they appear to be working in some capacity. Many of these systems can begin to fail but yet no repairs will be sought instead we will simply stop using a faulty socket, put tape over broken switches and carry on. We all lead busy lives but sometimes our electrical installation is trying to tell us it needs help! These wiring systems were not designed to provide fault free safe service for several decades, it is a good idea to have things fixed when they break and occasionally have the electrics inspected. We can do all of this for you.
If you have a really old wiring system then we may be limited in the repairs we can carry out. It may be that we can only partially restore power, have to install temporary measures or recommend that parts of the electrical system are replaced.
Back to top9) What type of electrical repairs are possible?
In the picture we are in a loft investigating the lighting problems. We replaced a light switch in the end whilst doing battle with a large wasp! We can carry out all manner of electrical repairs such as
- Replace light switch
- Replace socket
- Repair a fuse board
- Replace a circuit breaker
- Repair damaged wiring
If you are unsure if your problem can be fixed then we are happy for you to send some photographs over WhatsApp or email to us and we will have a look for you. If you need a callout electrician then call us for help.
