1) There are occasional times when you need an “ELECTRICIAN NEAR ME OPEN NOW” it can be a problem finding someone.
1.0.1) There are a number of emergency electricians that are available to help you out of hours if there is an electrical problem in your home and they can be found by performing a search on an internet search engine.
If you are reading this blog then you have found an emergency electrician that covers the North West.
If you need some electrical advice about the best layout or design for a project then the best way to go about this is to put as much information in an email as you can and send it on over to your electricians. It is important to give them as much detail as possible when you get in touch so they have the best chance of helping you out.
If you are searching for an electrician for an emergency then this does limit the number of available companies that can help. Also finding a local company where you can speak to an actual electrician can be difficult as many companies that are advertising on the internet are national companies with a call centre not necessarily local.
Google Reviews are a great way of checking if a company are any good. An electrician with 100 or more Google reviews should give you some confidence of the level of service and attention you should receive for your project or electrical problem.
Back to top2) "I want a price for my electrical job over the phone now"
We are often asked for a quote for works described over the phone by the customer. We appreciate that time is precious and it can be difficult obtaining quotes from companies for work that you may want carried out, however, it is often impossible to accurately quote for work on the basis of a phone call alone. At best you will receive a ball park figure and at worst a price that is completely inaccurate and changes soon after the project begins.
It is often possible to estimate for a project or small job over the phone which can save both the customer and contractor time and effort if the price is outside of the customers’ expectations or budget. With emergency works and fault finding, the only possible quote that can be given is that for the first hour of attendance and labour.
Emergency works and fault finding are an absolute unknown until that first hour has elapsed and there are some answers. It is usually then a case of quoting for further works or continuing to test the installation for a more accurate pinpointing of a fault.
Back to top3) Are 24-hour electricians truly 24 hours?
If you are searching for an “ELECTRICIAN NEAR ME OPEN NOW” then you will likely only find electricians that are providing an emergency service. 24-hour electricians are there for an emergency service only normally and believe me, most will not be happy discussing your possible garden lighting project at 2am 😊
General enquiries are best kept to normal working hours by phone and email outside of this. Other than that, most 24-hour electricians are happy to work unsociable hours to get power restored to you. Some electricians will have dedicated out of hours staff and smaller electrical companies or sole traders will likely be happy to bail out of bed to help you if you really need us.
Do electricians have offices that I can visit?
Larger electrical firms may well have an office address that you can visit so you can discuss your project requirements with them although most electricians are more likely to visit you at your home address to discuss your requirements. Most electricians now have websites and social media account to showcase their work for you.
Gone are the days of a lever arch file filled with photographs of their work, everything is digital and online these days and social media accounts along with pictures and even videos are the norm.
Back to top4) How do I book an electrician to come and carry out work?
Every electrician will have a slightly different way of booking your work in. I can only really comment on the way we tend to do things here and we have a process for booking work in with our customers.
If you fill out our contact form with as much detail as possible then we will come back to you within 24 hours normally requesting any further information and indicating if we believe we need to undertake a site visit to produce a quote for you. With the technology available to all of us these days we have seen a huge increase in quote requests and as such we would never be able to attend all of them in person so we sometimes try to simplify the process and speed it up. 😊
We are often able to estimate costs or quote from pictures / short videos that our customers send us. If this is too technical then we are happy to come and visit but there may be a short delay before we can get out to you. Don’t worry, we will always get there and if we can’t then we may pass on the details of a trusted colleague that may be able to help instead.
Back to top5) What is happening in the photograph?
This was a commercial client that needed a communal floodlight replaced ASAP as it lit a section of stairs up which otherwise would have remained dark and a trip hazard. 😊If you need an “ELECTRICIAN NEAR ME OPEN NOW” then we are always here for emergencies. Don’t hesitate to get in touch using our contact form for anything else.
