1) If you think you need an EMERGENCY ELECTRICIAN in Liverpool then look no further.

We specialise in electrical emergencies, fault finding and testing. We had a call from a concerned customer on a Sunday. He had been undertaking some DIY electrical work removing an old alarm, alarm cables and electrical cables. He thought that everything was dead as there were no lights showing up on the alarm or signs of life to it. When he cut through the power cable to the alarm there was a loud bang and the electric supply to most of the property went off.

He made a sensible decision at this point to call us to come and make safe the wiring and to offer some peace of mind. We attended within a couple of hours as is this the case with most emergencies. We guarantee to get to you “same day” but normally as quickly as possible.

He had made a mistake and did not know that there were live cables there, he had cut through the cable with an incorrect tool putting his life at risk and blowing a hole in the tool with the resultant minor explosion that occurred as hundreds of amps of fault current flowed briefly across the tool before the supply disconnected. Thankfully he had a modern consumer unit that had been fitted recently and was able to detect the problem and disconnect!

If the consumer unit had been an older style fuse box, then this could have been much more serious.

2) What does an emergency electrician do?

An emergency electrician is an electrician that specialises in attending as soon as possible to your urgent electrical situation. They carry lots of spare parts to be able to repair electrical problems quickly and effectively and should be equipped for almost any emergency at any time of the night or day. They will specialise in testing, fault finding and repairs over other electrical works and will be able to narrow down faults quickly and restore power where possible.

An emergency electrician will normally work 24 hours a day and travel over a large area to be able to help customers. Not many electricians will offer an emergency service as the hours are unsociable and it is hard to make plans when the phone can ring at any moment.

We offer this service to you.

3) Can you help me at midnight?

If you need an electrician out of hours then we are happy to attend and fix the problem. Please do not call if you would like a quote for electrical works at midnight though 😊 We are happy to come and assist you where you have electrical problems but if your enquiry is regarding quotes, estimates or advice on home electrics then we can help you with this during normal working hours (or time when we are awake 😊)

We have attended many emergency calls at all times of the day and night and this is what emergency electricians do.

4) I have a total power cut what do I do?

If there is absolutely no power in your home at all and I mean no lights, no socket, no cooker, no lamps, NOTHING! You would be better to call 105 first before you call us. Calling 105 will put you through to the distribution network operator (electricity people that supply your home) and they will be able to tell you if there is work going on in the street or a power cut of sorts in your area. This will save us both time and money and may mean there is nothing to worry about.

If you find that there is no problem with the supply to your home but something has tripped at the consumer unit then you may wish to consult our FREE help sheet before you call us. This help sheet is written by US for YOU to try and assist you in restoring power to your home.

The helps sheet is available here.

Most emergency electricians will attend the same day and usually as quickly as possible.

Most electrical emergencies are rectified / made safe or partially repaired within the first hour. Where issues are likely to exceed the first hour we will inform you and keep you informed. After our initial investigations we will be able to estimate the remaining time needed to fix the issue OR provide a quote for you where repairs need to be carried out.

9) Where can I find an emergency electrician service?

You can find an emergency electrician by searching on Google for instance. Companies will have Google reviews written by customers that have used their service and rated from 1 to 5 stars. The more Google reviews a company has, generally, the more customers have used their service and left a review. These are really useful for you when choosing a company to come and help you. Reading through these can be useful to see if the electrician offers the same service you need and if previous customers were happy with the service that was offered.
