1) How long does an emergency electrician in Liverpool take to arrive?
1.0.1) From taking your booking we will be with you within an hour in most cases.
Up to two hours if we are far from you at the time. All this will be explained to you when you book with us.
We know how important it is to get to your property quickly when you have an electrical emergency and we understand that you are worried. We will give you an estimated time of arrival when we take your booking and one of our small friendly team will attend urgently to investigate your electrical issue. We can share our Google maps location with you so you can monitor our route, progress and arrival time.
Back to top2) What will you do when you get here?
We will begin our investigation into what has happened. We will normally have a short conversation with you prior to beginning to ascertain what has happened and when. Then based on the information you have given us we will pick where best to start the investigation and get to the bottom of what has caused the electrical fault in your home. Quite often our investigations begin at the consumer unit / fuse box.
Back to top3) What is a consumer unit / fuse box?
This is the electrical box in your home that contains all your fuses or trip switches. It is the control centre or brains of your electrical installation and can often be found near the front door in a cupboard, under the stairs or in the garage. These are the most common locations but we have seen them installed everywhere. If you are unsure where yours is then don’t worry, we will find it for you.
If you do know where it is then please make sure we can access it easily and have good working space around it. 😊
Back to top4) How much does an electrical trip switch problem cost to fix?
When a trip switch is tripping in a consumer unit then it is not normally the trip switch that is faulty it is usually a problem on the circuit that the trip switch is protecting. There could be a faulty appliance, a damaged cable or a number of other issues that is causing the trip switch to trip. However, let us make some assumptions…
- Trip switch replacement £120-160 including safety testing, certification, parts and labour. This is often additional to any investigative costs.
- Faulty circuit repair £10-500. This is often in addition to investigative costs. The price depends on a variety of factors and can exceed the stated figures in some cases.
- Trip switch problem investigation. From £80 and normally by the hour of half hour.

Back to top6) What time does an emergency electrician work until?
We will answer our phones to emergencies 24/7. If we do not answer then it is important that you leave a message and we will get back to you. We will work around the clock to ensure that you have your electrical system repaired and operational. Back to top7) What about electrical parts and repairs?
We carry plenty of stock on board and in our lock up and we are able to repair or replace most electrical accessories there and then. If there are bigger or more expensive parts that are required then these may be a special order. We regularly replace consumer units in the middle of the night when the old one has failed. We are also able to supply temporary power to your home in the event of a non-repairable situation such as a fire or flood that has occurred.
Back to top8) How long does an electrical problem take to fix?
Most issues are rectified within the first hour. Some take a little longer. In the case of a total power loss at your home we are able to restore power to several parts of the home even if the fault takes a little longer to fix.
Some electrical problems can take longer to fix if they are difficult to access or require electrical installation work to rectify such as replacing several cable, chasing walls, rewiring parts of a circuit or replacing a consumer unit that has failed or been badly damaged.
We know that communication is key and we will keep you informed every step of the way. As soon as we know what the problem is we will tell you and we will then find WHERE the problem is. When things cannot be fixed on site during our visit and will require further works we will normally restore power to the rest of the property and then give you a FREE QUOTE to replace, repair or restore the installation.
