1) What is a local emergency electrician?
This is an electrician that lives locally or works locally to your address and may travel to reach your address. They will tend to specialise in emergency electrical problems, emergency call out, trip switch problems and other urgent electrical issues. Some local emergency electricians are actually national companies that have local electrician contacts. We are not. We are a true local emergency electrician service.
Back to top2) What are we?
We are a local service covering Most of Liverpool and Warrington. We work daily in and around all L and WA postcodes and we cover emergency problems for our customers throughout these areas. We specialise in emergency electrical works, fault repairs and power restoration. We also carry out a range of other electrical services like replacement lights, new sockets, installation of modern consumer units and more.
Back to top3) What can I expect when an emergency electrician comes to visit?
We will turn up as quickly as possible to sort out your electrical problems but we need you to do us (and you) a favour before we arrive. We like to fix your problems as quickly as possible with minimal fuss which saves you money. In order to do this during our investigations we will need good clear bodily access to your consumer unit / fuse box and electrical outlets, sockets and switches throughout the property.
You can expect us to have a conversation with you when we arrive to ascertain the nature of the problem, when it occurred and any past issues. We will then get to work. Our investigations normally begin at the consumer unit / fuse box and may then spread out towards the sockets, switches and other electrical accessories in your home. We like to work methodically and quickly to get the problem resolved.
Back to top4) How long will it take to fix electrical problems?
This is a very common question for our customers to ask and the answer is, normally an hour or two. Certainly after this time we will be able to either completely fix and solve the problem for you OR be able to give you a quote for further works knowing what the issue is and where the issue is.
Problems can sometimes reside under floorboards, in lofts or walls and can prove difficult to access on the first visit. Issues can occur with consumer units / fuse boxes involving parts that we may not stock at that time and this may require us to order parts and return to fit them. We do carry a vast array of replacement parts in stock and on the vehicle BUT there are SO MANY different manufacturers of electrical consumer units / fuse boxes that we could never be able to carry all of them.
Back to top5) How quickly can a local emergency electrician attend?
We offer a same day / night emergency service. We will always attend as quickly as possible and we will tell you our expected arrival time window when you call us. In the evening we are normally quicker to attend as any electrical works that are booked are booked for daytime generally. Emergency works often only come in at night which is ideal as we are normally available to attend more quickly then. We aim to get to you within 2 to 4 hours during the day and within 2 hours at night but we will tell you when you call.
Back to top6) Can you fix every problem on site first time?
No. We are able to fix a lot of issues without a return visit, around 90% in fact. We carry spare sockets, switches, cable, consumer units and more so there are no trips to a wholesaler day or night required for us to obtain parts HOWEVER occasionally it may be necessary to order specialist or obsolete parts to complete your repair for you. This will take a little more time and we will always make your installation safe before leaving you, give you an estimated time for parts to arrive and a written quote for the work.
A lot of electrical problems that occur in your property may require no parts at all and in these cases most issues are fixed immediately with no waiting time for parts.
Back to top7) Can you fix wet electrics?
Yes and no. We can make safe / isolate certain parts of your wiring to ensure your safety and arrange to come back once things have dried out. The time that this will take will depend on the severity of the water problem and how you go about drying it.
Back to top8) How do I book you?
When you call us with your emergency we will confirm the cost for the first hours attendance and send you a link to pay for this. Once this has been paid we will confirm in writing and guarantee our attendance. This means we will not prioritise any other works over yours and get to you quickly. We can sometimes offer a tracked arrival time via sharing on Google maps which some of our customers find reassuring.
Back to top9) What time are you open?
For general enquiries we are available 9am to 5pm 7 days per week. For emergencies that you require us to attend we are available 24 / 7, we are unable to take general enquiries for works out of hours by telephone and ask that if you require a quote, an estimate or a chat about potential electrical work that you email when out of hours.
Back to top10) How much does a local emergency electrician cost?
