Switch Tripping

We live our lives day to day, using our property as our peaceful retreats from everyday life.

We try to relax, cook nice food and enjoy all the leisure activities we can in the comfort of our own home.

The electrical supply to our home lets us do this, keeps us safe and in most modern installation prevents us from electric shock. We take all this for granted of course as everything works, every day, without fail and that is how it has always been…. We have never had a problem….right???

Electrical problems can develop over weeks, months or even years. Hidden in walls, floorboards or attics, wiring can become worn, damaged, brittle overheated and so on. When a switch trips then there is a problem. Sometimes it is a faulty appliance but sometimes there are other things happening within the electrical system in your home that need specialist investigation.

If you have a tripped switch in your fuseboard / consumer unit / electric box , then you need to call us. We are here for you, we specialise in electrical faults and repairs so we are usually quick at finding the issue for you.

If a switch has tripped then your electrical installation is telling you that there is a problem in your home that needs your attention. Electricity is a dangerous thing and it requires a professional to understand it and to work around it, we have the specialist tools, test equipment and knowledge of the wiring regulations (currently nearly 600 pages of wiring regulations) to be able to find problems and know what is safe and what needs fixing.

If you need an emergency electrician, a 24 hour electrician or someone to attend an electrical fault then we can help you. Don’t try to reset the switch again and again, it will damage the components in your consumer unit and may well damage the wiring in your home if the fault is not found and corrected.

The photograph shows a consumer unit that has tripped a switch and requires our attention.

If you need us then call us, if it is late then its best to call if you require our attendance.
