Whether you have a single oven, double oven, gas cooker or range oven. You will need professional help in order to safely install your new appliance. When you want reliable service installing your new electric cooker, be sure to give me a call. Many new appliances will require up to date electrical wiring to be installed in order to safely connect the new appliance, but whatever is required, I can certainly advise and help with installation.
Back to topNot every appliance installation is straightforward and electrical work is often needed to extend or alter the existing wiring or electrical circuit to ensure that your appliance has all the power it needs. Domestic appliances such as the induction hob, double oven and range cooker may require up to a 32 amp electrical circuit in order to function correctly. As such, you may find that your existing cooker supply is not quite up to the task.
Where a new cooker circuit is required in order to carry out your electric cooker installation, do not worry, i have you covered. As a qualified electrician and electrical tutor, I carry out electrical work to a very high standard. Not only are all wiring regulations and manufacturer's instructions complied with but your installation should go smoothly.
Back to topIn many cases, there will be an existing separate cooker supply circuit to power your appliance but where you have a single oven installed at present, there may not be! Let me explain:
Single ovens generally do not require a large dedicated circuit and will often require a fuse connection unit or additional plug socket in order to work safely. If you have a single oven at present, then a new single oven should be just fine to install. If you are in any doubt, please contact me with the specifications of your new oven and I will do my best to advise.
Back to topMost double ovens, if not all, require a dedicated electric cooker circuit to ensure that they have enough power to operate correctly. This is not just a manufacturers requirement but is a wiring regulations requirement. Double ovens often need a 20 amp or 32 amp electrical circuit to safely work.
In these cases, you will need to get in touch so we can establish if your existing power supply is up to the job and then we can give free estimates of the cost to install your appliance for you.
Back to topWe are not able to install gas appliances for you but we can certainly recommend someone that can. Most gas appliances will require an electrical supply in order to operate the ignition circuit in the appliance. We can take care of the electrical side of things for you without any drama.
Back to topFreestanding stoves need to be installed using a sufficiently large and suitable power cable to prevent melting, overheating and fire. The manufacturer of each appliance will specify the size and type of cable that is suitable for installing their appliance. Freestanding stoves should also be correctly secured to the wall behind in accordance with the instructions to prevent tipping of the appliance when opening doors and removing food from the oven.
Back to topThe electrical connections on electric hobs have become simpler in some cases over the years. Many hobs now state that they are able to operate safely from a 13 amp plug top inserted into a standard socket outlet. This can be true BUT, operations will be affected. Many 7 Kilowatt hobs can indeed run on a 13 amp plug BUT they will be unable to cope with multiple rings in operation at the same time.
If you have an electric hob that does not cook as well as you might like, have a new electric hob that you need installed or would like some advice then just get in touch with us. Where required, we can run a new cooker circuit from your consumer unit and install your new hob on a beefy electrical supply that can cope with all the potatoes and veg you need to boil!
